Агонизирующую, ага. См. в любом англо-русском словаре слово agony. Блядь, они что, журналисты расейские, получили команду перейти с огурцов на белену? То у них китайские космонавты в космосе летают с помощью пропеллеров, то гламурные алкоголички вовсю агонизируют почём зря. Бершидский с его хитрой маней и журналисткой имени птицы просто отдыхает.

China newspaper editors sacked over Tiananmen ad
BEIJING (Reuters) - A newspaper in southwest China has sacked three of its editors over an advertisement saluting mothers of protesters killed in the 1989 Tiananmen Square crackdown, a source with knowledge of the gaffe said on Thursday.
Public discussion of the massacre is still taboo in China and the government has rejected calls to overturn the verdict that the student-led protests were subversive.
Hundreds, perhaps thousands, were killed when the army crushed the democracy movement on June 4, 1989.
Li Zhaojun, deputy editor-in-chief of the Chengdu Evening News in Sichuan's provincial capital Chengdu, and two other members of the tabloid's editorial office had been dismissed, the source told Reuters requesting anonymity.
The newspaper and the Chengdu city government declined to comment. Li could not be reached.
On the 18th anniversary of the crackdown Monday, the lower right corner of page 14 of the Chengdu Evening News ran a tiny ad reading: "Paying tribute to the strong(-willed) mothers of June 4 victims."
Authorities interrogated newspaper staff to find out how the advertisement slipped past censors. Newspaper ads need to be vetted in China.
Hong Kong's South China Morning Post said Wednesday a young female clerk allowed the tribute to be published because she had never heard of the crackdown.
She phoned back the person who placed the ad to ask what June 4 meant and he told her it was the date of a mining disaster, the Post said.
It was unclear if the man who placed the advertisement had been arrested.
The man also tried to place the same advertisement with two other Chengdu newspapers, the source said.
"Staff at the other two newspapers also did not know what June 4 was, but they phoned and asked their superiors and he walked away," the source told Reuters.
The Communist Party has banned references to the crackdown in state media, the Internet and books as part of a whitewash campaign, meaning most young Chinese are ignorant of the events.
The 32-page Chengdu Evening News, which boasts a circulation of 200,000, has not suspended publication.

Пекинская газета Chengdu Evening News уволила троих редакторов, допустивших появление на страницах газеты упоминания о событиях 4 июня 1989 года на площади Тяньаньмень, сообщает Reuters.
4 июня на 14 странице издания появилось объявление: "Отдаем дань уважения сильным духом матерям жертв 4 июня". Reuters со ссылкой на неназванные источники в Пекине сообщает, что в связи с инцидентом власти собирались даже приостановить выпуск газеты на неделю.
Виновницей происшествия оказалась молодая сотрудница издания, которая никогда не слышала о событиях 1989 года. Как предусмотрено правилами газеты, перед публикацией она позвонила автору объявления и спросила, что означает дата 4 июня. Неизвестный автор ответил девушке, что в этот день произошел несчастный случай на шахте.
Напомним, что в ночь с 3 на 4 июня 1989 года на площади Тяньаньмень в Пекине солдатами китайской армии была разогнана студенческая демонстрация. Причиной силового решения конфликта стал отказ демонстрантов мирно покинуть площадь и нападения студентов на солдат, в результате которых несколько военнослужащих погибли. Число жертв разгона оценивается разными источниками от 400-600 до 2500 человек, число раненых - до 10 тысяч.
32-страничная газета Chengdu Evening News была основана в 1956 году. С 2001 года она выходит в городе Ченду на юго-западе Китая ежедневно тиражом в 200 тысяч экземпляров.

Grimy slaves in Chinese factory
BEIJING, China (Reuters) -- Chinese people have rescued 31 people forced to work for a year as slaves -- given only bread and water and no pay -- at a brickworks run by the son of a local Communist Party official, state media reported on Friday.
Eight of the workers were so traumatized by the experience they were only able to remember their names, the Beijing News said, citing a report in the Shanxi Evening Post.
One laborer was beaten to death with a hammer for not working hard enough, before police swooped to set the others free, the newspaper added.
The survivors had bruises, wounds and burns all over their bodies, having been made to carry uncooled bricks and walk barefoot in the kiln, it said.
"The grime on their bodies was so thick it could be scraped off with a knife," the newspaper added.
They were guarded by dogs and "thugs" at the factory, near Linfen in the poor inland province of Shanxi, and the boss was only allowed to get away with it because of his political connections, the newspaper said.

Many of these laborers work without formal contracts, and have little recourse to the law in case of disputes, which makes them more prone to exploitation.

А наличие бедных мигрантов-рабочих - в экономике далеко не такой отрицательный фактор. Как известно, я сторонник естественного отбора, а не предоставления равных возможностей.
Два же доллара в день в шансийской глуши - плохо, конечно, но выжить можно. Рис, овощи, курка раза два в неделю. Это ж не в крупном городе. В белоруссии тоже есть люди, живущие на 60 долларов в месяц. Пока не вымерли, вон, даже голосовать ходят.

Disorder in China's Courts
The police say her son was busy cutting a taxi driver's throat on the night of Aug. 16, 1994, but Yang Shuxia says she knows better. "He was right here lying down next to me with the tube running into his arm," she says, pointing to the kang, a traditional brick sleeping platform found in most farmers' homes in this part of northeastern China. Yang and other family members insist that then 21-year-old Zhu Yanqiang couldn't even get to the toilet without help, much less sneak out to join in the brutal robbery-murder that took place some 40 km from the family's two-room farmhouse in the windswept hills outside the town of Chengde. Zhu, who sold vegetables in a nearby market, had gotten into a fight the previous day with other vendors while jostling for a prime spot; he was beaten repeatedly with an iron bar. "He was badly injured and the doctor gave him medicines and told him to rest," Yang says. "We have the prescriptions to prove it all, but the judge refused to listen."
Zhu and three friends from his village of Zhuangtouying were convicted in 1995 of murdering a taxi driver—convictions obtained in large part on the basis of their confessions, which all four men later said they were tortured into fabricating. Citing numerous problems with the trial—one higher court found no fewer than 28 inconsistencies in the original court's conduct—the case was appealed all the way to the Supreme People's Court in Beijing, which recommended a retrial, as did several lower courts. In all, the case has been retried five times. Yet all four men remain in jail 13 years later. "Even for China, this is an unusual case," says law professor Xu Zhiyong, a legal adviser to the defendants' families, "because it is so clear that these men are innocent."

Chinese have long had to accept that the courts offered little recourse from flawed decisions. But economic development is bringing pressure for change. The country's emerging urban élite now see protecting their individual rights as a No. 1 priority. "The rising middle class likes predictability and security, and that's what the law does," says Nicholas Bequelin of Human Rights Watch, adding that the Communist Party recognizes that its future hangs on being able to accommodate such demands. "The Party is highly adaptable so long as nothing threatens their basic control."

Во Вьетнаме 60$/месяц - нормальная зарплата работяги, и даже в Ханое(ХоШиМине) есть такие зарплаты.
Стало быть Китай по пути благосостояния продвинулся существенно.
